Technology is getting bigger every day in South Korea. Many successful companies including Samsung and LG are based in South Korea. As you may know technology is a growing market and South Korea is thriving in it. Car companies like Hyundai are even putting state of the art technology in their car. South Korea has one of the most connected online markets. They also have the highest average internet speed in the world. These facts alone make South Korea a big player in the global market for technology.
South Korea has gone from in he 1960s a poor level GDP to making it into the trillions. Presently in is the twelve largest economy. Once the government promoted technology and import of raw materials, the country soared . Many of these innovations and improvements have been from technology. For instance L.G and Samsung were founded during that time. Today we have probably all heard of these companies. In 1980 the number of college graduates was 647,500. It is now 3.6 million. They have one of the highest rates for high school graduates to go to a higher education at 80%. What does all of this mean? Well now take that one in four college graduates in South Korea graduate with a technological degree. In the America it is one in twenty. South Korea is dominating around the world in its technological advances. Samsung is one of South Korea's most popular companies. It was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. In 1960 though the company transformed into a electric manufacturer to help boost South Korea's industrialism movement. It is now the world's biggest electronic information company in the world. Their revenue was 17% of South Korea's GDP in 2014. Companies like Samsung show South Korea's potential in creating technological jobs and innovation. In the end, South Korea's technology is one not to be underestimated. It is growing so quickly it is hard to tell where they could be anywhere from a decade to maybe even next week. The country probably never guessed to be where it is now as a leading country for it's technology. South Korea will continue to grow with all of it new graduates interested in the business, and I honestly can not wait to watch where the country goes. |
